Hero Duo

In 2052, Lin Dan and Lee Chong Wei, who are both approaching their seventies, meet up in Kuala Lumpur. Both the world class shuttlers are enjoying coffee and sharing their heroic action on the badminton court decades ago. Their grandchildren sit around their two grandfathers to listen to the stories of their battles-of-the-century. And the kids really enjoy it. Their wives—Xie Xing-Fang and Wong Mew Choo jokingly grumble to the hero duo:“You two old men really love boasting about the badminton stories in front of the children; don’t you guys feel bored?” Their joke falls on deaf ears and the hero duo continue with their stories.

From the two heroes’ chat over a pot of coffee, their grandchildren have already learnt what know the heroes and respect them means, and they have understood the several-thousand-year-old teaching of Confucius—Gentlemen have nothing to compete against each other except archery. Gentlemen greet each other before the game, and sip wine together after the game. And their competition is very gentleman too.

Fair play and sportsmanship—they are indeed all about respect and friendship.
