新加坡國立大學研究了一個60秒就能測出新型冠狀病毒肺炎的儀器，這項研究可謂意義重大。
我幻想若之後新加坡博覽中心有展覽，假設原先可容納兩千人，現在由於防疫只限一千人，入口處設立25個速測站，每一行40 人只需要40 分鐘就可以檢測完畢。首500人提前一小時到達展館，第二批500人一小時之後到場檢測，檢測確定沒有患上新冠肺炎就獲准入場。在場內全程必須戴上口罩，維持社交距離，並且提醒與會者常常用肥皂洗手。這些措施可以確保阻斷病毒傳播鏈。
我幻想這道速測的通道猶如安全門，獲准入場的民眾都是健康的參與者，再加上大家都戴口罩，在場內的病毒感染率應該是可以降至很低很低了。
若國外有愈來愈多人可以接種疫苗，而這一類檢測之後就可以正常活動的機會漸漸增加，相信有觀眾的演唱會、體育賽事必定可以恢復。英格蘭足球聯賽有十個球會可以讓兩千名球迷入場觀賽，他們屬於第二級限制。其他十個球會屬於第三級限制，還不可以接納觀眾入場。第一級限制最為寬鬆，也就是體育館可以有四千人觀賽，但是還沒有球會達到要求。
若有速測機制而且更多人已經接種疫苗，相信體育賽事、演唱會、電影院、表演中心、展覽的現場人數可以增加。我們都在耐心等待，因為我們深信人類終究會渡過這個難關。

I am imagining when Singapore Expo is to organise an exhibition again, the organiser might need to reduce original 2,000 attendees to 1,000. If there are 25 speed testing devices at the gateway, it takes only 40 minutes to check 40 participants queueing up in one line. The first 500 participants are allowed to arrive at Expo one hour earlier, while the second batch of 500 people arrive an hour later. All participants tested negative for Covid-19 will be allowed to enter the venue. During the event all participants must put on mask and maintain social distancing. And the organiser always reminds people to wash their hands with soap. These measures should be good enough to cut off infection chain.
I am also imagining the speed-testing passage to be a safety door. Participants allowed in are healthy people who still don a mask in the venue. This means that the infection rate in the venue can be minimised as much as possible.
There will be higher chance for activities and events to be normalised when more and more people are being vaccinated in overseas. I believe that concerts and sport events with audiences will be resumed soon. As for now, ten English premier league clubs fall into tier 2 restrictions are allowed to accept 2,000 supporters. The other ten clubs placed in tier 3 are prohibited from accepting fans into their stadiums. Tier 1 restrictions are the most lenient to welcome 4,000 fans. But no clubs meet requirements for tier 1 for now.
With speed-testing facitilites and more people being vaccinated, sport events, concerts, cinemas, performance centres and exhibitions will be able to welcome more viewers. We are waiting patiently, for we firmly believe human race will overcome this challenge.
